Her most recent prize was a second place finish in the 2006 CBC Literary Awards for her short story Red Rover, Red Rover.
Her most recent grant is courtesy the Canada Council toward a novel project set in Nicaragua, which is where she travelled with her family in December, 2006. Can violent revolution beget democracy? That's just one of the questions she's thinking about as she explores, through fiction, her own experience as a child of peace activists.
